“SuzAnne really leads by example with her horse, Power. She told me at one point that she felt that Power was her soul mate, and it made me realize that we weren’t just riding horses, we were part of a team with them.”

Nothing compares to sailing through the mountains and forests aboard a sure-footed, smooth-gaited horse in peak athletic condition!
Dunrovin’s Tennessee Walking Horses are:
- Superb athletes
- Veteran trail mounts
- Trained by professionals to condition body and mind and ensure responsiveness
- More than able to meet any challenge presented by the most experienced of riders
- Gentle and well trained enough to accommodate beginners.
Dunrovin emphasizes hands-on horsemanship. You will be paired with the same horse for your entire stay, so you’ll get to know each other and become a team. You don’t need riding experience. You do need to have a sense of adventure. If you are a beginner, we’ll teach you the basics. If you are experienced, we’ll help you improve.
Annie:
The herd matriarch and mother of Lady Lonza. Annie is unfortunately lame from an accident a few years ago but now takes her role as grandmother very seriously.

Lady Lonza:
Lady Lonza is named for SuzAnne’s father and is an icon of Dunrovin’s beginnings. Our blonde beauty of the herd delivered a new baby girl in the spring of 2010.
Echo:
Echo is one of the youngest horses at Dunrovin. She is owned by Sally Suk who finally realized her childhood dream of having a horse to call her own.
Charger:
This big blue roan has experience in hunting field trials and is a great trail horse. Charger is one of our older horses and still going strong.

Dandy:
This beautiful bay has a name that captures his description—he’s a dandy! Dandy is a trickster though – don’t turn your back to him, otherwise you’ll find he’s stolen your hat, glove, helmet or anything else he can get his lips on. Laura Bosak fell head over heels for Dandy and purchased him for her own horse this year.

Flash:
This true gentleman has a fantastic gait and willing disposition. Flash is a wonderful first “gaited” horse ride. His rider only needs to think about gaiting and Flash is off, in a perfect smooth running walk.

Chief:
Chief is a horse that you’ll want to bring home! He’s a very quiet guy with a naturally gentle disposition, making him an excellent horse for similar mannered humans.

Mickey:
Is the class clown and really does remind you of the famous Mickey Mouse. He loves to create a scene but is a true partner beneath all the antics.
Monty:
This friendly, gorgeous chestnut is known as Dunrovin’s surfer dude! Monty is a very dependable horse and is constantly called upon to lead his herd. He is currently the boss of our dude string.

Chinook:
One of the newest members of our herd, Chinook is as fast as the winds he’s named after and is often seen leading rides all over western Montana.

Smokey:
This gentle giant has a sensitive side and a beautiful, fast, sure-footed gait. Smokey is also a star in a silent film.

Romeo:
Is a true Don Juan – all who come in contact with him fall in love with his willing attitude and beautiful mane and tail.

Rocket:
Goofy might be a better name for this young horse! He’s a true comedian and a very gentle spirit.

Whiskey:
With his lovely red coat and loving nature, he is an all around asset. Whiskey is quite a delight to ride with his fast gait and responsiveness.

Martine’s:
Latin name betrays the fact that he is not a Tennessee Walking Horse but a Peruvian Paso. Martine is Dunrovin Ranch’s rescue horse. Early in his live, Martine developed ring bone which made him unsuitable for long, strenuous rides. He was on his way to the stockyard sales when he was rescued and eventually found his way to Dunrovin.

Cool Dude:
Is a children’s pony extraordinaire! With spots of a different color, he’s a very cool dude, indeed.
Bonnie:
Is a Shetland pony, mother to Clyde and one of the oldest horses on the property, but don’t let her age fool you…she still has quite a bit of spunk.
Clyde:
Completes our pair of Shetland ponies and is just the right size for pony rides. He is the prefect gentleman for youngsters.
Miss Maude and Miss Gertie:
Miss Gertie is Miss Maude’s older half sister and like siblings everywhere, these two are inseparable yet sometime squabble over the best hay. They are the Dunrovin mascots and delight everyone, young and old, with their friendly personalities, loud honks, youthful vigor, and childish antics. What a pair!
