“You can see what man made from the seat of an automobile, but the best way to see what god made is from the back of a horse.” Charlie Russell, Montana Artist 1864 -1926

At Dunrovin Ranch we strive to provide our guests with an experience that emulates the spirit of Montana’s most legendary explorers, Lewis and Clark, and embraces the artistry of Montana’s most renowned artist, Charlie Russell - the only artist to be honored with a statue in the United States Capital Rotunda. We want our guests to see Montana through the eyes of those who navigated the rivers, traveled beyond the back roads, in the high country, on the plains, and in the company of the men and women who called Montana home. To do that, we must connect our guests with real Montanans willing to share their love and knowledge of this beautiful state; we must get away from the well-traveled routes, eschew the tourist spots, and forget about luxury—to find the Montana that lives and breathes as the Last Best Place.
Dunrovin Ranch Expeditions connect you with true Montanans who create the kind of trip for you that they would create for themselves. All of our trips emphasize experiential learning about Montana’s natural and cultural history. We partner with local experts – businesses, nonprofit groups, museums, university professors, artists, and scientists – to develop trips that immerse our guests in a Montana experience that can only be had from Dunrovin. We choose a natural or cultural history theme, then select routes that best illustrate that theme and showcase Montana’s splendid landscapes. We identify local resources and businesses to guide our learning and service our needs; creating a trip that brings our guests and locals together for a journey of mutual discovery.
Our expeditions are small – rarely more than 8 guests – to ensure close, personal attention and the opportunity to forge new relationships with Montanans.
Dunrovin Ranch Expeditions focus on quality, learning, and fun! We offer experienced expedition leadership, professional educational programs, comfortable accommodations, fine food, beautiful settings, qualified guides, incredible horseback riding, outstanding service, and unexpected experiences. We achieve these high standards with a relaxed, casual and spontaneous approach.
